Angeliki Vervenioti
Pediatrician with a special interest in Pediatric Allergology and Pulmonology
Angeliki Vervenioti, MD, PhD, is a pediatrician with a special interest in pediatric allergology and pulmonology. She was admitted first to the Medical School of the University of Patras in 2002, from which she graduated in 2009. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the University Hospital of Patras and received the title of Specialist in Pediatrics in 2018. She has been a Scientific Associate of the Pediatric Pulmonology – Pediatric Allergology Department of the Pediatric Clinic of the University of Patras from December 2018 to the present day. She has completed three postgraduate programs:
- Postgraduate Program in PEDIATRIC NUTRITION. Boston University School of Medicine — June 2020
- Post Graduate Program Early Nutrition Specialist from Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich. September 2022
- “AUTISM: UNDERSTANDING, EDUCATION AND INTERVENTION”, with a total duration of 450 hours — 9 months, organized by the Center for Education and Lifelong Learning of the University of Patras. June 2025
She holds a PhD from the University of Patras on the topic “Optimization of respiratory support during the neonatal period” since July 2024.
Since February 2026, she has been a Certified Autism Coach.
She has 42 publications in international scientific journals, 43 oral presentations / lectures at international and Greek conferences as an invited speaker, while she has attended more than 150 international and Greek conferences.
She is a researcher in multiple national and international studies, as well as in 4 European research programs.
She is the first Greek doctor to receive the ESPR BENGT ROBERTSON AWARD for research concerning neonatal lung — November 2017, 2nd JENS, Venice, Italy.
She has active participation in a translation team for pediatric / neonatology textbooks and teaching work in pediatrics, including courses and clinical training of medical and nursing students, pediatric residents and postgraduate students of the University of Patras.
She is a regular member of the Hellenic Pediatric Pulmonology Society and the Hellenic Pediatric Allergology Society, as well as a member of the European Respiratory Society — ERS — and the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology — EAACI.
She is Academic Editor of two Special Issues for MDPI: “Infectious Diseases and Complications in Neonates” and “Diagnosis, Treatment and Care of Pediatric Allergy”, and reviewer in reputable scientific journals.
She is the scientific director and manager of the private pediatric medical center NeoPedCare in Patras, wife of Professor of Pediatrics and Neonatology and Director of the Pediatric Clinic, NICU and Pediatric ICU Gavriil Dimitriou, and mother of two children, Kleopatra and Rafaella.
